Playing Fields and Play Area

The Children’s Play Area and Petanque Terrain

There is a children’s playground off Muddy Lane which was fully refurbished with new equipment installed in 2018. In 2019, a new Petanque terrain was installed for use by all to play Petanque or Boule. These areas will remain in place and will be accessible from the new Village Hall.

For more information and to report any issues and incidents, please contact the Parish Council here

The Sports / Playing Field

The playing field is currently available to hire for sporting fixtures and other events. It should be noted that there are no changing facilities on the sports field at present.

The maintenance of the field is done voluntarily by: Colin Foster, Tristan Foster, Paul Bradley and Tim Hoskins who regularly mow the grass.

Anyone running a business on the playing field will be required to pay rental. Please contact the Clerk for more information.

Public Footpath & Dogs

The Parish Council have been successful in their application to divert the public footpath which used to run diagonally across the field from the northwest corner to the southeast corner.

The new footpath now runs from the northwest corner in a straight line past the containers and garage to the bottom of the field and then along the bottom of the field to the metal gate giving access to the wider network of public footpaths.

The Parish Council are arranging for the new footpath to be clearly marked to avoid any confusion.

There is also a permissive path that runs in continuance of Muddy Lane which also joins up with the footpath network.

Dog walkers should keep all dogs under close control while walking these footpaths particularly when there are farm animals in the fields.

Dogs should not be exercised on the playing field.
