(Temporary Traffic Restrictions) Order 2023
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 as amended, intends to make an Order, the effect of which will
be to introduce the following temporary traffic restrictions as specified in the Schedules
below.
This Order will come into operation on the 21st day of December 2023 and will
remain in force for eighteen months.
The Works are expected to commence on the 8th day of January 2024 until the
12th day of January 2024 (between 19:00 hours and 06:00 hours) to enable
Openreach to replace a faulty underground cable and blocked duct. The restrictions
will only apply when indicated by traffic signs.

From the junction with Main Road in a south-westerly direction for a distance of 150 metres

Temporary 40 mph Speed Limit

From the junction with Heathway Lane in a northerly direction for 100 metres
B3151 Westhay Road Glastonbury
From the junction with Heathway Lane in a south-easterly direction for a distance of 55 metres
Statement of reasons for making the Order
a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road
b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
